Maini has written many books, some of which are Electronics And Communication Simplified, Electronic Devices And Circuits, Digital Electronics: Principles and Integrated Circuits, and Satellite Communications. The author has also written over a hundred articles on a wide range of topics revolving around electronics designs. A series of his articles were published in Electronics for You from 1989 to 1993 titled Quiz and Application Data. Maini graduated from Punjab University, and then worked as a lecturer from 1977 to 1978 under the Directorate of Technical Education, Chandigarh. From 1978 onwards, he has been with the Defence R&D Organisation (DRDO), India.
