Tirthankar Barari is a practicing technologist with more than 35 years of experience in software development and consulting. Since over a decade he is working at Microsoft leading the AI transformation in the cloud for top Financial Services and Insurance (FSI) enterprise customers. As a Chief Cloud and AI Architect he helps FSI enterprises ideate, architect, pilot and operationalize Cloud & AI solutions, driving new business opportunites and optimizing operations. Prior to Microsoft, he had worked at Sophos, Verizon, Nokia, Bank of America, RSA, GTE, Wipro and other organizations as a developer, architect, and manager. He is an avid supporter of open source community, a Java developer for decades, with experience building public cloud computing infrastructures and AI solutions. He holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Kanpur, and several certifications from Microsoft and other organizations in the technology industry. Tirthankar lives in the metro Boston area in Massachusetts. During his spare time he enjoys speaking at AI conferences and volunteers in theater, and cultural events hosted by local communities.
